We are introducing attendee proximity join for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows and Android, enabling users to quickly and effortlessly connect to a nearby room system when joining Microsoft Teams events, including town halls, webinars, and structured meetings. This enhancement simplifies the meeting join experience and helps users connect to the appropriate room device with fewer steps.

[Rollout Schedule:]

  • Targeted Release: Rollout will begin in early October 2026 and is expected to complete by late October 2026. 
  • General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High): Rollout will begin in late October 2026 (previously late September) and is expected to complete by mid-November 2026 (previously early October).
