[What and why]

We are introducing a self-service onboarding experience for new applications submitted to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery. This experience helps independent software vendors (ISVs) validate supported single sign-on (SSO) and user provisioning integrations before submission, identify and resolve common configuration issues earlier in the process, and track submission status through a guided workflow in the Microsoft Entra admin center. By enabling publishers to validate integrations and manage submissions directly, this experience streamlines the publishing process.

[Rollout schedule]

  • Public Preview: Available now
  • General Availability (Worldwide): Beginning in mid-November 2026 and expected to complete by late December 2026

[Impact on your organization]

Who is affected

  • Independent software vendors (ISVs) and developers submitting new applications to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery
  • Administrators responsible for publishing applications to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery

Platforms and services

  • Microsoft Entra admin center
  • Microsoft Entra App Gallery

What will happen

  • Publishers can validate supported OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and user provisioning integrations before application submission.
  • Publishers can create and manage App Gallery submissions through a guided workflow in the Microsoft Entra admin center.
  • Validation results can be associated with application submissions.
  • Publishers can provide required application information and supporting documentation during onboarding.
  • Applications can be submitted directly to Microsoft for review.
  • Publishers can track submission status and respond to reviewer feedback.
  • Public Preview currently supports new Microsoft Entra App Gallery application submissions only.
  • Existing applications already published in the Microsoft Entra App Gallery will continue to use the current update and removal process.
  • No impact is expected for organizations that do not publish applications to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery.
  • This experience does not change how users access applications.

[Action Required and recommendations]

No action is required.

Organizations that publish applications to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery should review the new onboarding experience and prepare application publishing teams for the updated submission workflow.
