[What and Why:]

The All Accounts view, also known as Unified Inbox, lets users see email from multiple connected accounts in a single inbox view in the new Outlook for Windows without merging their mailboxes. Each account's inbox stays separate, and All Accounts view brings messages together so users can triage mail from one place.

Users can read, delete, search, move, archive, and mark messages across accounts without switching between mailboxes. The experience integrates with Copilot for AI-assisted email workflows and supports Search with Copilot for finding messages across the user's primary account.

[Rollout Schedule:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We began rolling out in late September 2026 and expect to complete by late October 2026.

[Impact on Your Organization:]

Users with more than one connected account in the new Outlook for Windows will be able to triage email across accounts from a single All Accounts view. This does not merge mailboxes or move messages between accounts. Each account remains separate, and All Accounts view provides a unified view only.

[Action Required/Recommendations:]

No admin action is required at this time. New admin controls for Unified Inbox are planned for release later in October 2026. Once available, admins will be able to manage whether Unified Inbox is enabled or disabled by default and whether users can change that setting.

We will provide updated documentation and rollout guidance when the admin controls become available.

[Compliance considerations:]

This feature provides a unified view across connected accounts in the new Outlook for Windows but does not merge mailboxes or move messages between accounts. Review your organization's Outlook account and automated-assistance policies as appropriate.
